Hey gals! This Winter sure has been an interesting one. Only one significant snowfall that quickly disappeared without a trace, and mild weather all throughout. Usually I hate dressing for colder weather, mostly because I am not one for layering. The least amount of clothing possible, the better, in my book 😉 This year has been different, though, because I finally feel like I’ve curated a Fall/Winter wardrobe that I really love and thrive in.
It’s amazing how pushing yourself outside of your boundaries can liberate you! This year I pulled out skinny jeans for the first time, got rid of my too-large collection of grey, navy, and black sweaters and skirts, and played more with texture and color. For once, I feel like I’m in my own skin when I wear my clothes. Like I’ve finally found my instinctive style that was buried deep inside under layers of trends and outside inspiration dictating what I should look like. I finally feel like I am really expressing my personality through the clothing I wear: go-getter, fun, vivacious, and ever-so-slightly wild 😉
Another fun thing that I have been experimenting with is growing out my hair. This time last year my hair was the shortest it had ever been, and I loved it. After we girls closed out our singing career, however, I was ready for something different than my usual layered bob. I decided to begin growing it out, and I honestly can’t believe how much fun I’ve had doing it! I have discovered a wild, crazy, curly mane that I never knew I had! Thanks Dad and Grandma for the rad hair genes! 😀 I plan to keep on growing it out and see how long I can get it. 🙂
I was so excited to receive these darling Forest’s Twilight earrings from Meadow & Fawn in the mail! The beautiful green gems and delicate, woodsy etched detail the metal is so lovely. The size and shape is practical for spicing up and everyday outfit, too. Love it!
