Hello my dears! We are back! After a few weeks of re-assessing our blog, lives, etc. and then being hacked (thanks very much for your patience with that issue), we are back on the blog, ready to share our lives and their happenings. You all may recall the “Lately” series, which was mainly headed up by Charlotte about the day to day of our lives. Well, I figured, since I am in my own house now, with a new life, I thought I would start my own series to share my day to day with you all, titled: Brigid’s Life. Speaking of which, I have been living this so called “new life” for just over four months now!
Gabe and I celebrated our four month anniversary a few weeks ago, so I thought it would be fun to make an occasion of it! I got out our nice china, flatware and glasses, and set about making a gourmet dinner.
The menu consisted of Spiced Salmon, Oven-Roasted Broccoli, Brown Rice (which I unfortunately forgot to add salt to… you can’t win all the time!), Oranges, and a Honey Spice Cake with Coconut Cream frosting for dessert. It was a rather good meal, if I do say so myself. Though Gabe and I got so distracted with watching the sunset that our food got a little cold before we could enjoy it. 😉
I was in the kitchen when Gabe arrived home, intently checking the temperature of the salmon to see if it was done. I didn’t bother turning around when he walked in the door, but instead just said “Hi!” and kept watching the thermometer. After I was satisfied that the salmon was not yet done, I finally turned around to properly greet my dear husband, only to discover that he had patiently been standing behind me with a bouquet of roses and some chocolates in his hand! I am so blessed by such a thoughtful, loving man. He is a gem.
