I know that many of you have probably been anticipating our Remembering WWII 2016 recap, so here I am at last to share it with you all 🙂 Two weeks ago we headed down to Linden, Tennessee as we always do every year now for this phenomenal event put on by some of our dear Tennessee friends! Filled to the brim with battle re-enactments, WWII propaganda and paraphernalia, re-enactors, old-time live music, military vehicle rides, and so much more; we girls had the time of our lives while there! Many of our friends couldn’t believe that we decided to come with Brigid & Gabriel’s wedding the week following, but as we told them at the time: it was a vacation for us!
The layout of the event was very similar to last year’s, with 2 battle re-enactments, and speakers and live music throughout the day. We girls got it easy this time around with only 3 performances (one with the Merchants of COOL Big Band, another 20 minute segment on the Courthouse Stage, and a final segment at the evening USO Show) as compared to our rigorous schedule from last year, so we had the majority of the day to roam around, snag a vehicle ride here and there, visit with friends, and take LOTS of pictures 🙂 Also, with Gabe tagging along with us this year, we had an extra photographer other than myself to take pictures, so we finally have some shots of us girls performing for our personal collection! Yay! Ok, I’ll stop rambling, and let you get to the pictures. Enjoy!
One amazing new feature of RWWII this year was the WWII plane fly-overs!
A very kind German re-enactor invited us girls to take a photo-op in his HUGE military tank! It was so much fun 🙂
Our evening wear for the formal USO show! Funny story: NONE of us wanted to make new formals for RWWII this year… but then we all caved and did 🙂 So glad we took the time to do so, since I really feel like we nailed it this time around!
Finishing out the day with a glorious dinner & swing dance! And can I just say….these two <3 #cuteness
Did any of you attend Remembering WWII this year?
