Plum Deluxe Tea Review

10/04/2016

Plum Delux Tea Review, tea, herbal tea, review, lifestyle blogger

After my last tea review and giveaway, and finding so many of you to be tea lovers, too, I decided to partner up with another wonderful tea company. This company’s loves to provide their tea enthusiasts with a perfect, hand-blended cup of organic, non-GMO, sulfite/chemical-free tea. Allow me to introduce to you, Plum Deluxe, and Founder, Andy Hayes.

Besides offering numerous blends of Black, Green, White, and Herbal teas, with a Blog to boot, Plum Deluxe’s main goal is to encourage the idea of making your tea time count. Here’s a scope on the company’s mission from Founder, Andy Hayes:

“We’re a little different than your typical lifestyle blog, and we’re very different than your typical online tea company. We’re a community – and one of my not-so-subtle goals is to share the stories and lessons I learned from my mother, Pam.”

Andy’s Mother, Pam, died after 6 years of battling breast cancer. During her battle, she learned to enjoy life as she never had before. She took time to be with with her friends, exercising at the gym, visit her family roots in Germany, and took lots of time to relax and celebrate each day of her swiftly passing life. When she died, Andy took up Pam’s life mission to make moments matter through the founding of Plum Deluxe. Since then,  he has expanded on all the practices and lessons his mother taught him in making moments matter. Find out about Plume Deluxe’s inspiring ideas to make moments matter on the company’s blog, The Blend.

One of Plum Deluxe’s key trademarks is the Tea of the Month Club, which offers you one 7 oz packet of tea as shown in the pictures, plus a sample pack. When I was contacted to Review Plum Deluxe, Andy said he would send me a example package from the Tea of the Month Club, and asked me to pick out a blend of my choice to round out the review. I happily accepted the offer, but had quite the time picking out my blend of choice–there were so many tea blends to choose from! Having recently fallen back in love with black tea, however, I decided to narrow my field of options and go with a black tea. Thus, I pick out Coconut Macaron Desert Tea. Plum Deluxe’s signature purple package came in the mail not long after, and I was thrilled! The Tea of the Month was Pome (apple) Blossom White Tea, and the sample pack was Deluxe Pumpkin Spice Tea. You can’t get much better than apple and pumpkin to satisfy your autumnal cravings!

Tea of the Month: Pome Blossom White Tea

Just as its name implies, this all organic tea captures the essence of an apple blossom. With a base of white tea, dried apple bits, rose petals, jasmine and hibiscus (to name a few of the ingredients) Pome Blossom was the perfect introduction to Autumnal flavors and cozy tea times. With each cup I made I was always impressed with the lovely apple aroma of the tea. The smell is so good in fact, that I love to hold the mug right under my nose and breath in the aromatic steam as I let the tea cool. The tea flavor itself is very much like how an apple blossom smells–every sweet aroma of a blossom, with a subtle taste of apple. It’s divine!

Sample: Deluxe Pumpkin Spice Tea

There couldn’t have been a more perfect pairing with Pome Blossom than that of a rich, pumpkin spice tea! I was so excited–with this sample packet I would be trying three different types of tea from Plum Deluxe! The Pumpkin Spice did not disappoint; if anything it made me thirsty for more of its rich, spicy flavor! Honeybush is the base for this tea, layered further with black tea, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, calendula and natural pumpkin flavor. This tea was the perfect blend to keep me warm and happy after I got out of bed in the morning.

My choice: Coconut Macaron Dessert Tea

As I said, I had a hard time picking out just one tea to try, but in the back of my mind I kept thinking, coconut! So When I happened to scroll upon this delicious blend, I knew I had found my tea. Along with a combination base of two teas rich, black and honeybush, this blend boasts in the naturally sweet rooibos tea, dried coconut pieces, and natural almond essence. I know it says dessert tea on the label, but for the life of me, my body just won’t go to sleep if I have the slightest bit of caffein in the evening. So I get a little treat when I wake up instead. I love this tea very much. It satisfied my craving for a sweet coconut flavor, with the addition of rich, hearty aroma from the black tea. Its almost so perfect a blend, that words will not do it justice–you’re just going to have to try it for yourself.

P.S. Thank you all for your loving prayers and support during the previous week of wedding craziness. The wedding itself went off with the result of Brigid and Gabriel becoming successfully hitched for life. 🙂 It might be a little bit before we can get a post up with pictures from their wedding. We will get that up as soon as we can, though, so please bear with us. Currently, we are missing Brigid now. It is strange to not have her piano practice and frequent bubbly chatter echoing through the house, but we are trying to adapt, however slowly. As for Brigid herself, it will be a little while before she comes back to the blog, but have no fear! She hasn’t left this little space on the web, not for the world, or a married life. Until then, you can count on Charlotte and I to keep the blog alive and well. 🙂

These Plum Delux Tea Products were sent to me for free to review by Plum Delux, but all opinions & tea-loving enthusiasm are my own.

I am glad that the wedding went well. I hope that you easily adjust to the new life that all of you get to lead. I can’t wait to hear about the wedding and see pictures and find out how all of you adapt and adjust.

I do enjoy a good cup of tea……… and dark chocolate. It has taken me awhile to really enjoy tea. I still like it best with dark chocolate and a book to keep me company.

Best wishes to all of you!

How do you drink your tea? I’m a coffee drinker but I’ve tried teas before. But they’ve never tasted right as I can’t find a good ratio of sugar, cream and tea.

I actually drink my tea straight. I have tried cream and sugar in my tea on different occasions, but it never was as enjoyable to me as it is straight. I like to enjoy the full flavor of the tea without anything covering up or adulterating the flavor spectrum of what ever kind/blend of tea I drink.

Hi Mary – I have a tea called Oregon Breakfast which is hazelnut and orange peel black tea. I’ve converted a lot of coffee people to tea with it, as the hazelnut reads like coffee. Fix it like you fix your coffee and see what you think 🙂

This looks so delicious! Autumn is the season for tea. I drink tea year-round, but I consume a significantly greater amount of tea in the autumn and winter seasons. There is nothing that I love more than sampling new teas and blends.

    Thank you for sharing!

Oh I love tea so much! There’s nothing better than the warm smell of a pot of tea in the morning, especially in the fall 🙂 I’ve never heard of Plum Deluxe, but I love Mr Hayes’ mission, and I think I might starting ordering from them! Coconut is my favorite flavor, but I’m also intrigued by their Reading Nook tea! Lavender is just so wonderful!

I’m so happy the wedding went off well! I said a few little prayers for y’all this weekend, especially for Brigid and Gabriel, as well as your family as y’all start to adjust. Weddings are such happy, blessed occasions!

I loved this post. I’m also so happy to read you girls’ insights about the world. Tell Charlotte the photography looks gorgeous (though I’m sure she already knows 😛 )

    May God Bless You,

These sound like delicious fragrant teas, that is the beauty of tea, they are so delicate and uplifting and definitely something to savour and take time over. As the weather turns, I will be trying to incorporate more tea into my life as I so want to be a tea drinker. I just prefer a cold drink even though my parents drink tea like it was going out of fashion, they didn’t pass the love for a cup of it on to me. I’m even less of a fan of coffee and will have no more that around four cups each year.
So glad to hear everything went well over the weekend, I hope Brigid is enjoying being a wife and setting up their own home. I am thinking of you all.
