Hey girls! I have a more modern, subdued, european-esque outfit to share today! I find it so interesting how style evolves for everyone over the years. I used to be the gal with all the crazy, colorful clothes; but more often than not, I have been finding myself leaning heavily on grays and blues for my outfits these days. What is fun about going for neutral grays and blues, however, is the smaller pops of color that you can add to make things more interesting!
I don’t usually go for red for an entire outfit, as the shade can be quite daunting and bold; but I adore adding it in smaller chunks through accessories and makeup! Red lipstick is a quintessential classic, and when paired with a casual sweater & midi skirt, it can really help to elevate a more laid-back, hum-drum outfit. Statement shoes can do the same as well, and goodness knows my beloved Spats are nothing short of that! 😉 I adore it when clothing items combine fashion with practicality, and my adorable rain boots are the epitome of that pairing!
My hairstyle is left-over from the french braids that I had it in the day before. Goodness knows it becomes a crazy mane when I take it out of any type of braided hairstyle! I tamed it down a bit with a homemade hair serum, and called it good. It definitely has a modern edge to it (I guess you could say I’m channeling my inner Naomi from Love Taza. Love that lady’s style!!), and sometimes I like to just let my hair do its thing, and wear my thick mane proudly 😉 I am so excited to see what it does as I continue to grow it out! I have already been gathering so many different hairstyle ideas from Youtube that I am so anxious to try. My long-locked friends have been such sweet, willing models for me as I try out the hairstyles that I can’t wait to do on myself; but I am itching for the day when I won’t have to rely on another to get out my pent-up hairstyling passions 😀
I have been having a lot of fun playing with more modern/european-esque styles lately, and combining old classic pieces in a creative, playful way. I hope that I can inspire you all to just have fun with your style, and experiment both inside and outside of your comfort zones!
Do you have a neutral palette that you tend to stick to?
How do you like to add color to your outfits?
