Hello, everyone! I am so excited to share with you all my latest hair tutorial today called, the Vintage Double-Roll-Updo! This hair tutorial features a two-in-one look. With the first hair style, I’ll show you how I make the simple twists on either side of your head, a style that was once so popular in the 40s. As will be explained, this first style can be worn with the rest of your hair down, pre-curled or no. The choice is up to you to make this style your own. I personally love wearing my hair like this! I can have it down and out of my face, both at the same time. And what is even more wonderful, is that those of you who have at least chin length, or longer, hair can wear this style, too!
For the second style, I’ll show you how to continue the rolls on down the sides of you head, creating two simple buns in the back as the finished look. This hair style is great for anyone who is trying to grow out their hair, like me, and is tired of wearing it in braids, half ups, or a low-placed bun. In my opinion, this hair style is quite a bit more elegant than the afore mentioned hair-dos. In regards to length of hair appropriate for this style, let me just assure your that I was able to wear this style when my hair was shoulder length, and I was able to manage it quite well. Those of you who have much longer hair will have a lot of fun twisting the ends into larger buns in the back. Really, I don’t see why anyone with hair cut at least to their shoulders couldn’t pull this style off. One tip though: The shorter your hair, the more texture you’ll need. So either put a lot of gel in, or else curl it before giving this hairstyle a whirl.
Alright! Intro aside, lets get to it, shall we?
Before I sign off, I’m going to do something I don’t often do–ask you your opinion about my hair! Seriously? Yes, seriously.
As you all have witnessed, I have been growing out my bleached, blonde ends for the past year now, and my natural hair has grown out enough for my hair to take on that very trendy ombre look. Now, I myself have said in comments on my most recent post that I am growing out my hair, but I have been highly reconsidering that plan this week. Yep. I am thinking about going short again.
Because I am rather tired of looking at, and working with, my damaged blonde ends. They have become course, brittle, and over all not that pleasant to style. You might say I want a fresh start. And in all honesty, I am not afraid to go back to wearing short hair. I like short hair! However, there is always the option of going through a longer process of just getting the ends trimmed every once in a while until all the blonde is gone. Choices, choices… we have too many choices, do we not? For me, what it comes down to is this–I don’t mind cutting two inches off in order to get rid of most of the damaged ends. On the other hand, I do want to keep it since its the only way I can continue to experiment with new hair styles for longer hair. So what do you all think?
Should I cut it, or keep it?
Any tips, besides oil masks, to keep my ends looking nice?
Did you enjoy my hair tutorial?
Blessings to you all!
