Hello dearies! Ah, the dog days of Summer, when all you want to do is stay in the cool inside or in the shade away from the sun’s glare. I don’t know about you, but when it comes to this time of year, all I want to do clothing-wise is throw on something simple that requires little to no ironing, but still manages to look cute and put together, and feels as comfortable as possible in the heat. And what outfit could better fill that role, than my Linden Lady faux-jumpsuit?
I wore the jumpsuit by itself until the afternoon, and then decided to add something to bring my outfit up to a slightly more sophisticated, yet lighthearted, level. So I added some hair flowers and a locket that I have been saving in my jewelry trove for a few years. The resulting outfit somehow feels reminiscent of the South to me. I don’t know why. Maybe it is the bright hair flowers combined with the chambray, but I can’t help but feel like I belong down in the Good ol’ South in this outfit.
Faux Jumpsuit: Made by Me, Palazzos – Linden Lady by Brijee Patterns, Top – Self-drafted / Hair flowers: Made by Jessica / Locket: Antique Store / Shoes: Swedish Hasbeens
I love lockets for not only their added bling, but the fact that they can hold even deeper meaning than an ordinary necklace because they hold pictures inside. This locket has yet to hold any pictures, but someday soon it shall.
This is my second Summer of wearing my Swedish Hasbeens, and they are unfortunately starting to show the wear. 🙁 But, what can I expect? They are my favorite summer shoes after all, and I have worn them a LOT. I can definitely say the price has been well worth all of the wear they have received, and they still manage to look decently lovely, despite some nicks and scratches.
I’ll say farewell for now, as I have quite the big sewing project beckoning to me from the work table (some sleeves in particular are calling my name, begging me to come sew them together), so I fear I must go. I hope you all are having a splendid August, and are enjoying the fruits of the Summer’s bounty.
