“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven…” Ecclesiastes 3:1
Hello dearies! Today is bittersweet, as we have some sad news to tell you. At the end of 2016, The Boyer Sisters as a singing trio, will no longer be active. Just to put our current clients at ease, we will be performing for the rest of the 2016 season, up until the time that Brigid gets married in October.
Why has the age of The Boyer Sisters as a trio come to an end? We girls decided long ago, that were one of us to get married, we would highly consider the possibility of ending our singing career, depending on the circumstances. Well, now with Brigid getting married, that time has come, and we have made the difficult decision to move on from our singing career, into the paths that the Lord has set before each of us. The logistics of continuing to sing publicly with Brigid married would just be too difficult to overcome, and we believe that the Lord is giving us an opportunity to explore other avenues of blessing others with the gifts that He has given us.
So, what does this mean? Will we still blog? OF COURSE WE WILL STILL BLOG! Our blog, though it has been a means of promoting and recording our singing career, is not permanently tied to it, so the end of singing publicly does not mean the end of blogging. Not by a long stretch. You can still expect to see us posting here regularly. The blogging community has become a part of our circle of friends, and you are such a blessing to us. It would take a lot more than one of us getting married for us to leave blogging behind.
As Brigid said the other day, we feel like we have lived six years in the brief three years that our singing career has occupied. We have been so privileged to sing for some of the bravest men and women that live on this earth, the Greatest Generation. We have been blessed to bring back memories of the good old days for them, and create new memories for the younger generations. When we started just three years ago, we had no idea that we would record one EP, one full CD, and travel out of state to places like the U.S.S. Alabama in Mobile, AL; Remembering WWII in Linden, TN; and even to Washington, D.C. for a private gig this past June. It has been an absolutely amazing, beautiful, crazy, whirlwind journey. It has brought all of us closer together as sisters, has taught us much about public presence, and has blessed us with many sweet memories that we will treasure for years to come. We’ve put together a tribute video to the amazing career that the Lord has blessed us with, which you can view below.
It seemed that at least one person at each of our gigs would come up to us girls and tell us, “Don’t you ever stop singing!” Though this is the end of our public career, there is no chance that we would ever stop singing! We would have to lose our voices before that happened. The Lord has blessed each of us with an amazing gift, and we still intend to use it for His glory. The time has come for us, however, to step back from sharing it with the world, and see what other tasks He has for us to accomplish.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for joining us on this journey. You all have made these years to be some of the most precious of our lives. Thank you for your encouragement, your enthusiasm, and sharing in our delight in the music of the past. We will miss being connected with you all as a singing trio, but are so excited to see what the future holds for us as a blogging trio. Here’s to the rest of 2016’s singing, and whatever lies beyond!
“We’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when, but I know we’ll meet again some sunny day.”
This is the Boyer Sisters, signing off for the last time as a singing trio! Thanks for an amazing career!
