Hello everyone! Today I am so excited to present a review on one of Lilla Rose‘s newest and more rustic additions to their growing Flexi Clip selection called, Band & Bolos! When our dear Advertiser, Paula Ramm asked me to do a review, I didn’t hesitate one minute in picking out Band & Bolos even though it is quite a bit different than the usual classic, vintage-looking accessories I would typically go for. There’s something about the Flexi that just seemed to resonate with me more than all of the other new additions did. So scroll down through the post to get a better view of how I styled it, and I’ll explain why I love this Flexi Clip so much!
Working with the Summer’s heat and humidity fluctuations can be a bit of a challenge, even for me. “Jessica, I don’t believe you!” you might be thinking, but truly, sometimes it can be a real challenge to figure out how to wear my short, heavily layered hair up off my neck. Layers may do you a service for pin curls, but when you are in a pin curl slump, all you want to do is roll your eyes and sigh, knowing that today is not a day for spending time fussing with your hair. Too many other things to get done outside. Before my new Flexi came in the mail, I was working with this “pin-curl slump” of mine by pulling back my hair, twisting along the sides of my head down into a continuous roll, as seen here in this post. And then my Flexi came!
I’ve continued to twist the hair on the sides of my head, but instead of securing it into a continuous roll in the back, I pin the twists on the side in place, gather up all the hair in the back, and wind it up into an easy french twist, securing it with the Band & Bolos Flexi Clip. I love showing off the rustic Clip, so I will tuck back and pin the overhanging ends away from view, letting a few hang out for a relaxed look.
As I said above, the Band & Bolos isn’t a Flexi style that I would normally cotton to, but this summer I have been re-evaluating who I am as a person, and all of the things that I truly love in life, things like: the Wild West, the part of this Country we came from before we moved to Ohio several years ago; bright pops of color from the flowers I get to work with all spring and summer long; products that are made from raw, natural materials, products that are made to last; and of course a putting a good measure of refinement and elegance in everything I do. I made a connection with this Flexi because all of these loves were displayed in its unique rustic features, everything from the confident bright red of the leather, to the real maple wood stick which is used to secure my hair, to the raw but elegant aesthetic of the Flexi itself-they all spoke to me in a new way.
With that said, you wouldn’t be surprised to know that I have been wearing this Flexi as much as my wardrobe will allow (not everything goes with a bright red, rustic accessory after all), but each time I wear it, I feel like it’s my badge of honesty, displaying who I really am inside. Its fun to be able to express who you are as a person through the clothes and accessories you wear.
Not everyone loves the same thing, and that is why I think it is so awesome Lilla Rose makes a point to cater to individuality and uniqueness. There are so many new products they have released this year, and I would highly encourage you to check out their new additions after you’re through here! And if you are new to Lilla Rose, you will be amazed at how affordable, winsome, and fun their products are. Do me a favor and hop over there right now to see what I mean!
