Hello dears! Wow, but am I ever tired. The pace of life has picked up significantly around here, mostly thanks to one thing in particular: we’re moving! After 8 glorious years in our present home, we found it was about time we move on and downsize to a new home. The Lord has blessed us significantly as we’ve walked this sometimes bumpy road, and we are so thankful for the new dwelling that we have found to live in! Packing has been the keyword of our lives at the moment. I am completely surrounded by dismantled furniture and cardboard boxes, the piano movers are coming today, and generally everything is in chaos in our home. But, we all know that it’s only for a short while, so we’re keeping a stiff upper lip and trying not to go to crazy with how different our lives are at the moment.

Ah, dogwoods. Our street is just littered with these fabulous trees, peeking out from the bottom of the higher bows of oaks and maples, just like little white petticoats. 🙂 I expressed to Brigi just how much I wanted to get my outfit photos taken by one or two of these delightful trees, before the rain sweeps the blossoms away. I’m so glad we were able to sneak in one last shoot before house-moving completely takes over our time, and we find ourselves on a new street with new photo locations to discover.
I decided to channel a bit more edge in the outfit I’m sharing today. It’s been a bit chilly here lately, so I layered up a t-shirt with a blouse that I tied for a more laid-back style. I snuck in gold accents here and there with my shoes and jewelry, and kept my makeup and hair natural and modern. I put in a few waves with my curling iron that morning, as I’ve been seeing loose/beach-y waves on short, layered bobs, and wanted to give that look a go. I’m so happy that I did! I’m loving this style, with it’s ease and effortless put-together look. I have a feeling it will look rather fun with a more vintage-style outfit. Sometimes doing all-out vintage with my hair, makeup and clothing can feel like a bit much, so having a hairstyle like this one will help tone it down a bit.
Things have been crazy, but I rest in the fact that the Lord will bring us through it. It is my prayer that our new home will bring just as many adventures, blessings, and lessons as our present one. Oh, how different the road ahead looks! Even if you may not be a world traveler or what-not, adventure is most certainly out there, and comes upon you when you least expect it! Until next time, my dears.
