Hello dears! So, I somehow managed to incorporate a little dash of color into the outfit I’m featuring today, despite the ridiculous lack of it in my closet at the moment. Black, grey, and navy blue have been on constant rotation for me as Ohio begins to warm up and I have been transitioning from Winter to Spring styles. The fantastic blooms we received from our trip to the veterans home are the main element to thank for a spot of vibrance in my ensemble, haha! Passing by those lovely flowers every day inspired me to use them in my outfit shoot, so of course I had to style everything else around them 😉
There is really nothing like a vibrant shade of Barbie pink, is there? It’s so perfectly girly and fun; the ideal hue for Spring/Summer accessories! I don’t usually like to go all-out with such a bold shade as this, but adding pops of it here and there throughout the look adds the perfect touch of Spring-appropriate color.
I just love it when your lip color matches your bouquet to a T! #winning
Oh, and about my hair! No, I didn’t get it cut: in fact, I am growing it out! I recently discovered that it is long enough to put up in sponge-rollers, and boy, have I been having fun with that! Watching Jessica devotedly pin-curl or sponge-roll her hair has always inspired me to do the same… except that my hair has always been too short/thick/etc. But since that fateful night of experimentation in which I found out “oh my goodness I can actually DO THIS!”, I have been ever since 🙂 Vintage hairstyling is such a meticulous, time-sucking business, but I’m getting the hang of it. The world of perfect curls, up-dos, and the like has always been so alluring to me (especially since I have a sister who just nails that category every.single.day), so I am getting excited to grow out my thick, coarse locks and see what fun I can have!
I am so ready for the warm weather to finally make up its mind to stay! The trees are still holding out in their drab, brown undress at the moment, and I just about died when I read a Facebook memory today that said it was 81˚ this day 2 years ago! Sigh.
How has the weather been in your area?
How do you like to incorporate the Spring-factor in your everyday dress?
