Hello lovelies! I don’t know about you all, but I have been digging through my wardrobe each and every day trying so hard to find outfits that are Spring-appropriate: muted colors are all very well for Fall & Winter, but having worn pretty much JUST THAT for the past months makes me itch to pull out all the pastels and brights that I can! I guess it doesn’t help when belles like Madison are posting pictures of the sunny ol’ South decked out from head to toe in bright, cheery colors. *sob* Hurry up, Ohio! I want SPRING 😉
There are few things that exude the spirit of warmer weather like nautical fashion! And the best part of this style of dress is that it caters well to the darker shades and more utility materials like denim and wool, so it’s a great transitional style for going from Winter to Spring.
The blue cardigan I’m sporting I pulled out of my mending pile to fix up, since the 3/4 sleeve length is finally appropriate for the weather. The color & cable design lends itself nicely to the “sailor-esque” mode I was going for, so all I needed to finish the look was a striped top (essential for Nautical fashion!), a practical skirt, some flats, and of course, sea-worthy accessories!
I love lockets, and this star-fish embellished piece from Meadow & Fawn is so unique and adds the perfect oceanic touch to my nautical outfit. Unfortunately, Alexis no longer stocks this design, though you can view a few of her Spring-ready pieces (that I absolutely adore!) here, here and here!
I have a feeling I will be popping on to my favorite online fabric store pretty soon to stock up on S/S worthy dress lengths, though mean-while I’m making do with restyling my Winter favorites with cheery, Spring-appropriate accessories.
Who else is struggling with transitioning from Winter to Spring?
What is your tip for weathering that storm?
