Hello dears! Goodness me! Its been a long while since we did a Sister Flair post! Luckily, we were given a reason to do one when Garlands of Grace contacted us to feature their velvet headbands. Just in time for Christmas too, when everyone seems to have an eye for velvet!
Top: Thrifted / Bolero Sweater: Thrifted / Skirt: Thrifted / Headband: c/o Garlands of Grace / Necklace c/o Meadow and Fawn / Stockings: Target / Shoes: Miss L. Fire / Coat: ModCloth / Gloves: Antique store
Jessica: My ensemble was put together in such a way so that the Headband would take center stage. The shades of green in it and my sweater match almost exactly, and the burnt pumpkin color of my turtleneck really sets them off. I wanted to add a bit of subtlety to the bright hues, so I opted for my very favorite wool pencil skirt. Not wanting to look completely split in half, color-wise, I shod my feet with in the accenting emerald green of my adorable Miss L. Fire booties. All in all, the ensemble makes you think of being outdoors, with a faint vision of a warm seat indoors by a toasty fire planted in the back of your mind. And that, to me at least, spells Christmas. Ahh… 🙂
Brigid: Peeking out from under her coat of warm, grey wool, the hues of Brigi’s pink and red ensemble cause one to think of the Nutcracker Ballet! She chose a winning look when she paired her (enviable) hand made wool jersey blouse with her latest thrifted steal, a darling red wool skirt. It makes me think of candy canes, and ginger bread houses; I can almost smell that sweet aroma now just looking at her! She looks so scrumptious, especially with the “crowning glory” of her velvet headband. The echoing colors of red in skirt and headband are really quite perfect.
Charlotte: As if she had just fallen from the top-most twig of a dormant Maple tree, Charlotte holds the youth of Autumn in her ensemble. Coronated by the truly golden velvet headband, mellowing down to a more humble shade of gold in her sweater, and finally holding onto that last bit of green in her skirt and red in her boots, Charlotte looks the epitome of the last fallen leaf of Autumn. I truly admire the way that she styled her Garlands of Grace headband with her newest vintage find from the Two Old Beans Etsy shop. I don’t think the two articles of clothing should ever be separated again, do you? They were made for each other! Ha! They were made for Charlotte!
I think we make a fine Christmas tree-oh, don’t you? 😉 Forgive my good humor, but I just had to write that.
These photos were taken in the special little town called Waynesville. It is your typical quaint Ohio town consisting of a gas station, McDonalds, Motel, Dentist office, restaurants, what have you. The main attraction though, is nothing short of block after block of Antique stores! If you have ever had the pleasure of visiting a town where there is hardly anything else in sight but antique stores, you will understand how much fun it is to visit. There are always new treasures to find, a new store to visit; to put it simply, the adventures in Waynesville are seemingly endless!
Anyhow, one of us needed to get some Christmas shopping done in Waynesville, and so we all thought it would be a brilliant idea to take advantage of the opportunity to get this extra special photo shoot done in the cute little town. It really was a brilliant idea, except… none of us happen to be cold loving gals. And if you have to stay out on the frigid cold streets ten minutes at a time to take photos, the chances are you will run into several challenges: stiff hands for the photographer, drippy noses (just what we need to spiff up our look, right?) and super cold can’t-feel-them-anymore feet. Just to name a few. Oh, and to top that off, everyone you meet out there is greeting you and saying, “Gonna sing some Andrews Sisters tunes today?” Yep, that is what three sisters dressed in 40’s inspired outfits will do for yah. Just take it in, take it in, I had to keep saying to myself. It’s not always going to last. 😉
Do you like our outfits?
What do you think of the new Garlands of Grace Velvet Headbands?
Much love to you all!
