Well, dear readers, it would appear that Autumn is full-fledged in Ohio at the moment. The trees are coming out in their vibrant dress for one last hurrah before cold Winter sets in; and we girls are having so much fun pulling out our favorite layering pieces and dressing in those earthen tones so quintessential to the autumnal season. There is nothing like a delightful necklace or a whimsical pair of earrings to help spiff up an ensemble, and today we girls are excited to be partnering up with the lovely Catherine of Meadowland Designs to bring you today’s Sister Flair!
Catherine creates some of the prettiest jewelry designs we girls have laid our eyes on, and hand makes every piece that she sends out. Each of us girls selected our favorite item from Meadowland Designs to style for this Fall inspired Sister Flair. Want to see what we picked out?
Blouse & Shrug: Thrifted / 1940s Skirt c/o Paraders Vintage / Shoes: Old
Necklace c/o Meadowland Designs
Jessica styled her outfit around the fashions of the 1940s with her classic blouse, shrug, and authentic skirt. Oh, and how can we ever forget her hair?? I think it’s safe to say that we all envy Jessica’s talent in that department 😉 But the one piece of her outfit that stands out in it’s elegant, unique fashion is her necklace from Meadowland Designs. Adding a modern edge to an otherwise retrospective ensemble, this lovely necklace imparts a demure pop of color and pizzaz to Jessica’s outfit like no other necklace could.
Sweater: Gap / Skirt: eShakti ($40 off your first order of $70 or more!) / Shoes: Old Navy Outlet
I do love myself a bit of sporty fashion, so for my outfit I pulled out a heather grey cardigan buttoned up backwards (an old-fashioned trick to give a whole new look to an old sweater) with my trusty eShakti skirt that has been loved quite well this past season 🙂 I added in the bobby-socks and Keds look of the 1950s, providing a very casual, sporty feel. A little poof for my hair, vibrant red for my lips, and my lavender pearl necklace from Meadowland Designs helped in bringing out a girly, feminine side to my look. I chose this accessory for it’s very vintage-inspired style and practical length so perfect for wearing with retro fashions. I know that this necklace will be well loved and worn for many seasons to come.
Chambray Set: Handmade / Sweater: Thrifted / Clogs: Hanna Andersson
Necklace: Garage Sale / Earrings c/o Meadowland Designs
Brigid styled her wonderful Chambray set with her warm, woolen sweater and sturdy clogs for a cozy, autumnal outfit. Her golden-hued accessories impart such unmatched seasonal flair, her positively delightful acorn earrings stealing the show in the whimsical factor. In the 1930s and 40s, jewelry items simulating pieces of nature such as acorn and leaves were nothing new, so Brigid decided to take advantage of that fact in selecting Meadowland Design’s acorn earrings.
It was such a delight to pull out our most seasonally-appropriate outfits to style around Catherine’s adorable jewelry. Do be sure to check out her shop for more whimsical accessories! Also, from now until the end of October, get $5 off a purchase of $20 or more from Meadowland Designs using the code ENJOY5OFF20 (case sensitive)! Happy shopping 🙂
