Hello dears! Let’s take a short jaunt out of the rain we are currently experiencing, and take a trip to the lakeside, shall we? Oh, the summer sun is glorious when the breeze is blowing, and the warmth just begs for bright colors and fun accessories. So, we thought it high time we shared another sister flair with you all.
Somehow, all of our outfits for the day ended up having coordinating colors. Charlotte was wearing turquoise shorts, Jessica had turquoise buttons and earrings, and I had a green and white striped shirt that managed to mimic the hue of my sisters’ blue garb.

Part of the reason we wanted to do a sister flair this week, was on account of the fabulous jewelry we were sent by the lovely Jessica of Chronically Vintage. She was ever so generous, and the gorgeous jewelry you see us wearing today is just a small sampling of what we found in our goody bags. My outfit ended up being, as Charlotte put it, an updated tennis girl look, with a touch of the sea. I like to imagine that my shirt is the ocean that my seahorse necklace floats upon, and my pink pearl cluster earrings are the sea-foam. A delightful analogy, is it not? I love whimsical, yet sensible, outfits like this!

Charlotte’s outfit reminds me of an uber stylish version of a summer camp-commander’s outfit, like the one in Parent Trap (1961, with Hayley Mills). I just don’t know how, but those shorts of Charlotte’s always make me think of that movie. Anyhow, isn’t her outfit just positively perfect? I love how her striped top and cat necklace have a Parisian edge to them, while her sunglasses, shorts and sandals are all 100% American summer. And by the way, both Charlotte’s necklace and my necklace were lovingly handmade by Jessica of Chronically Vintage. She hopes to offer similar necklaces in her shop soon, and I say full steam ahead! They are delightful!

“Please, please, don’t eat the daisies…”
Jessica’s outfit has such a classic Doris Day, 50s look. I love how absolutely perfect her earrings are a match to the buttons on her shirtwaist dress. It was just meant to be! And the girls come up with the most lovely of color combinations, don’t they? I would have never thought of pairing turquoise with pink, and on top of that adding yellow shoes, but Jessica pulls off the look effortlessly.
