Hello! Charlotte here to share with you my outfit for today! Most of the time we girls make an effort to photograph our outfits ahead of time, but unavoidable obstacles came in the way of Brigid’s usual weekly post, so I had to take over last minute… and then it rained all day yesterday which meant that we would have to do the shoot morning-of… so here we are 🙂
Most days I try to always do a little something extra with what I wear, how I style my hair (if you call scrunching in gel “styling”…), or how I do my makeup to make me feel put-together and presentable. Last week we were full speed ahead with party set-up for my big birthday dance (pictures to come!), which meant that dressing up in anyway was totally back-burner, and not very practical (think sweating every clump of mascara and lipstick off type impractical). So I never really felt very pretty or ship shape as I usually do. This really took a toll on my morale, and by the time the party day rolled around and I was getting ready to be birthday girl for the night, I was pretty down in the dumps. It felt amazing to finally slick on that bright lipstick, wear my sparkly crown, and feel so feminine and, well, pretty 🙂
What does all this have to do with anything, you ask? Well, I suppose you could say that if you ever need a little picker-upper for your day, why not try and make yourself feel pretty? It will help you view your day ahead with more stamina, and in general help you to treat others better because you feel better. It could be anything from doing your makeup, to wearing your favorite earrings, outfit, whatever. Just do what makes you feel good in your appearance, and ultimately it will help to put a spring in your step and assist the sun to shine on your cloudy day.

Today I wanted to channel simple Parisian chic fashion, with muted colors, effortless makeup, and a little dash of bling via my classic jewelry. I am sporting my custom-made birthday necklace from Meadowland Designs today (mentioned before here), only this time instead of wearing it short and sweet like I did on my birthday dance night, I hooked on the extender bracelet for a more modern length. I just can’t get over how perfectly simple & practical this little gem of mine is! I can take it from formal, retro glam to everyday Parisian chic with just a simple hook and clasp! Probably my favorite piece of jewelry ever 🙂
What is your favorite way to pick up your appearance?
