Hello dearies! I can hardly believe Magazine Monday is already here! Today I have a very special, different edition to share with you, all about the wonderful Vintage Life Magazine.
We girls have always wanted to be able to peruse the pages of Vintage Life magazine, but we never got around to getting a subscription. But when we were offered the chance to review a copy, we were thrilled! The issue that I will be reviewing today is the May 2015 issue, No. 54: Specs Appeal!
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from Vintage Life Magazine. My biggest fear was that it would be too full of Pin-up fashion, without enough good advice/history articles. I think my fears were certainly allayed. There are pin-up fashions in the magazine (come on, we have to accept the fact that, unfortunately, pin-up is the main line of vintage fashion that women are wearing), but there were loads of good articles to read too! One of my favorites was a rather hilarious article called “Girl about town…” all about how and why you should dress properly regardless of where you go, or who you are meeting with.
Vintage Life is SOOO chock full of amazing articles, from beauty how-to’s to recipes (Potato & Rosemary bread anyone?), tours of vintage shops, a day-in-the-life featurettes and even some baking and sewing tutorials. I haven’t even been able to read through everything yet! But I would have to say, hands-down (at least so far), my favorite parts of the magazine were the history articles and the Collectif feature. I can’t wait to be able to read more of this magazine when I get a chance. There is an article reviewing a new homefront 1940s TV series that my curiosity is quite piqued by…
Before I sign off, I want to say, I think I would consider investing in a subscription to Vintage Life. With a Print subscription starting at only $29.99 (for four months), and a whole year’s digital subscription only being $30.99, the price is totally worth the amount of content you are getting in each magazine. Now let me ask you? Would you get Vintage Life Magazine?
