Hey friends! Guess what? Its day 3 of our participation in Ashley of Bramblewood Fashion’s #1outfit3ways event! We had such a splendid time coming up with clever combinations, and if ever accessories helped to make some nice outfits, ours certainly did the trick! I have talked before about how much I need to start wearing accessories more often to give my wardrobe selections a lift, and this challenge really helped with that–I think for all three of us! Haha! 🙂 If you haven’t seen our two previous posts for this challenge, click here for day #1, and here for day #2.
If you made a quick glance at all of our ensembles over the course of the three days, you might not be able to tell a difference, but this is where I find the beauty of the challenge–it looks the same at first, but as you look closer, our outfits suddenly seem to change! The girls and I went for a sophisticated/sporty look for this third round of the challenge. Can you see what we did to change up our looks?
On Jessica: Dress: Target // Belt: Forever XXI // Shoes: DSW // Headwrap: c/o Garlands of Grace // Earrings: Meadowland Designs
Ta-dah! I nixed the the skirts and finished off my dress with my thick faux leather belt. If I didn’t wear the belt, my dress would hang rather awkwardly, so I needed a little waist definition. Adding a feminine touch with my head wrap, ruffle shoes, and pink crystal earrings was the best thing to complete the look so that I didn’t look like a blank slate (although that looks nice on occasion too).
On Brigid: Shirt: Thrifted // Skirt: Me-made // Earrings: Meadowland Designs // Shoes: Gap Outlet
Brigi pulled off a very casual look with her untucked blouse and tennis shoes. After Church, she could easily change from her Sunday Best to this ensemble for a relaxing afternoon. One thing I truly admire about Brigi’s look is how effortless she makes it look–the blouse and skirt she wore for this challenge has proven to be some of the best staple items due to their changeability and graceful lines. Plus, who could ever shy away from a multicolored plaid house? Other than neutrals, plaid is a key item when you need to switch up an outfit because it has enough colors in it to hopefully cover most of your wardrobe. Brilliant!
On Charlotte: Shirt: Mikarose // Skirt: Handmade // Head wrap: c/o Garlands of Grace // Necklace: c/o Meadow and Fawn // Belt: Thrifted // Sandals: Payless
Charlotte has always had an eye for color combinations, and this outfit is no exception. It would appear that she was the sneaky, watch-me-fool-you-into-thinking-I-wore-the-same-outfit gal of the trio, and I must say she is hard to catch, if you know what I mean! But in her last outfit, she went for a very clean color pallet, accentuated by a radiant fuchsia lip, and head wrap, finessed with the gold glints of her whimsical jewelry.
Whew! Boy did we have fun! Scrambling to get together our outfits, making sure we were camera ready, oh and did I mention we nearly were rained out on this last photo shoot? Yep, that’s Boyer style for you! *grin* Always on an adventure…
What did you think of our day #3 outfits?
What will you be wearing for Ashley’s challenge?
Have fun with the #1outfit3ways challenge, dears!
