Hello lovelies! We girls are so excited to be participating in Ashley’s 1 Outfit 3 Ways fashion challenge this week! The challenge is pretty self-explanatory: style 1 basic outfit (shirt + skirt, dress, etc.) with 3 different pairings of accessories (shoes, belts, bracelets, earrings, etc.) for 3 days! We girls are cheating a little because our week ahead is so busy (did anyone say party planning? 😉 ), thus making daily outfit photo shoots quite impossible. However, we simply couldn’t miss out on this opportunity, and threw together & photographed 3 stylings of one outfit each ahead of time, that we will be sharing along the course of Ashley’s challenge.
As you can see, we girls went very basic & neutral with our base outfits. Brigid and I went for circle skirts paired with a basic top (although I will comment that Brigid’s top was quite a bit more of a challenge to style than my contrastingly boring cream t-shirt 😉 ). Jessica on the other hand was quite clever: tucked into her bold polka-dot skirt is not a shirt, but a basic shift dress! This allows Jess to pair multiple skirts with one piece, while still counting it as an “outfit”, and also retaining the ability to nix the skirt altogether and sport the dress alone. Smart, eh? A gal can never have enough basic pieces such as this for countless outfit pairings!
On Jessica: Dress: Target // Skirt: F21 (old) // Shoes: Swedish Hasbeens // Earrings: Thrifted // Scarf: Gift
Jessica went beautifully neutral with her first outfit’s color story. The subtle mix of prints and textures in her outfit create a graceful amount of interest, while not being to overpowering. Her big earrings & headscarf take her outfit from modern to effortlessly vintage, while still being practical for the summer heat and daily activities.
On Brigid: Shirt: Thrifted // Skirt: Handmade // Shoes: Saltwater Sandals // Belt: Thrifted // Earrings: Claires (old) // Bobby Pin & Necklace c/o Meadow & Fawn
Brigid was quite bold with her use of color in her first outfit. Highlighting various hues from her blouse, she was able to utilize a multitude of accessories while still keeping her look cohesive and classy. Her bold belt defines her waistline, and the flattering silhouette of her skirt and shirt pairing makes for an effortlessly well done outfit.
On Charlotte: Shirt: Mikarose // Skirt: Handmade // Shoes: ThredUP // Earrings & Hair Flowers: F21 (old & borrowed) // Bracelets: Thrifted
I played to the more subtle pinky hues of my base outfit for the accessories that I wore, keeping a consistent floral theme throughout. One of my favorite ways to take an outfit to the next level is to pair a set of bangles with it. Depending on the size & color of course, bracelets have the tendency to make an outfit just that much more put together and well done, sort of like a period at the end of a sentence.
We hope you girls were inspired by our looks for Day 1 of this fantastic challenge! Be sure to check out Ashley’s blog for her first styling of her outfit, and join in the challenge yourself! The more the merrier! 🙂
Will you be joining in this challenge?
