Hello! Happy Saturday to you all! Did you get to sleep in as much as I did? 😉 I usually revel in my Saturdays, since it is really my official “day off” from school (read: [trying to] get up at 5:30 each morning to do geometry. Ugh.), so I sleep as much as I can, which last night resulted in 10 hours almost exactly. We tried watching an Indiana Jones as a family last night… but let’s just say that MythBusters became a much less overly-graphic alternative (the 80s had no idea where to stop with the gross graphicness, IMHO) 😛 Which activities resulted in getting to bed at almost 12:00. Ok, ok, enough with my nighttime rambles 🙂 Life has been catching up with me as of late. The realization that so many, many things will be different for our family this year. So different for me. I guess it really hit home when Mom and I were driving home from the Orthodontist, and I was practically jumping up and down in my seat. Anyone who has had braces at some point in there life can probably guess why: we scheduled my bracket-removal appointment!! In a few weeks I will be a “normal” person with a “normal” smile 😉 That has made me realize that this journey of a metal-filled mouth really won’t last forever. Not that I thought it would… maybe just subconsciously I thought that.
Another thing that has changed my perspective on life this year is how I view the Seasons. A year or two ago, I would be aching for Spring by this time, and staring longingly at my Summer dresses. This year, however, I am now understanding the year in terms of events that will happen rather than Seasons. Our girls’ lives have been so filled to the overflowing with opportunities we never thought possible for us, it’s hard not to get them out of my head. This year instead of my wardrobe switch being an epic event, it will be just another step towards the events scheduled ahead. Instead of June being my birthday month, it will be the birthday month (see these posts: 1, 2, 3, 4 🙂 ), instead of September being the month of Autumn, it will be the month when we get to see our dearest friends again.
I guess that this is all from my view of life maturing? I really don’t know. Maybe it’s just a phase that will pass…
Oh, really quick I wanted to introduce you all to a new company we are affiliated with: XOMISSE! They offer some of the most amazing, customizable, and affordable (did I say affordable?? For what you can get out of that template, it’s a steal! Literally, my jaw was on the floor when I saw how amazing these templates are! Sticky navigation menus? Check! Full-width images? Check! Latest blog posts slide show? Check!) blogger templates I have ever seen. I whole-heartedly recommend them to you if you are looking to revamp your blogger blog’s look. I hope to do a more in-depth write up about them soon, but until then you can check them out here!
How has your life been changed this year?
