Hello all! Today I am going to be sharing my shopping list of beauty products that jive with my “Healthful Beauty” standards. They are a combination of tried-and-true products that I have already purchased, and ones that I would love to test out. Sound like fun? Then let’s go!
Yes to Tomatoes Blemish Clearing Facial Towelettes (EWG Rating = 1) // I have recently been switching over to Yes to Tomatoes Acne Treatment, since the Oil Cleansing Method that I was trying sadly wasn’t working. I use these towelettes to wipe off my makeup and cleanse my face when I don’t have time to do anything else. I plan to bring these towelettes down with me to Tennessee and Florida when we travel this Autumn so that on those late nights when I just want to crash, I can just wipe down my face and go! It’s a bonus that they’re travel size, so they won’t take up much room in my toiletry case.
Yes to Tomatoes 3 Step Acne System (EWG Rating = 1-3) // Like I said above, I have been switching over to YTT for my acne treatment, and LOVE the effects! I will be doing a review of this kit very soon, so for now just know that this is definitely a staple on my shopping list. 😉
Yes to Tomatoes Skin Clearing Facial Mask (EWG Rating = 4) // I have not yet tried this mask, but being the acne-prone, mask-addict that I am, this sounds like it’s right up my alley 🙂
Physicians Formula Organic Wear Jumbo Lash Mascara (EWG Rating = 1) // I have been itching to try a more health-conscious mascara, and the line by Physicians Formula sounds too good to be true! Let’s hope that when I get my hands on some, it fulfills my high hopes 🙂
L’Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream in Light (EWG Rating = 3) // Now I know you all are probably like “Whaaatt?! L’Oreal on a ‘Healthful Beauty’ post?!” I get it, I get it. BUT! I searched for a lengthy amount of time on EWG for a low-rated BB cream that wasn’t $25+, and this one seems to fit the bill. Next time I stop into Ulta, I definitely want to lay my hands on a tube to try out!
Korres Lip Butter in Mango (EWG Rating = 5) // This is definitely on the border of being a “Healthful Beauty” product, but I have heard such high reviews of this from Lisa Eldridge, that I am simply itching to order one! The mango color is soooo beautiful too!
So I am sure some of you are wondering what on earth I mean when I put the EWG Rating next to each product’s name. To clarify, EWG Skin Deep is a website and app database of the ingredients and health-risks of several thousand health products. It rates the products on a scale of 0-10 (0 being the best, 10 being the worst). This is such a handy tool for those of you out there who are, like me, trying to be more conscious about what you put on your body and face.
