Hi everyone!
I am delighted to share with you all the makeup tutorial from my J.Crew and Vintage Classy on Sunday I put up a couple weeks ago. Hopefully you’ll get a good idea of what you can do to achieve this look and perhaps wear it yourself when you feel in the mood!
Thanks for watching!
If you are allowed to wear makeup, what look do like to wear best:
Everyday toned down?
Classic and cheery with lots of rouge and lipstick?
Modern and bold with a smokey eye?
Fondly,

Jessica,
What a lovely video! I so enjoyed that. 🙂
I really loved the poignant statement you made about doing the best you can with what you have. That is so very true for each of us as women! We all have our own unique features, strengths, and weaknesses to work with, as well as different budgets and schedules that allow for a different routine or different products, but as long ad we are using those things to the best of our abilities, with the end goal of glorifying our King, then that is wonderful. 🙂
Loved your various tips, tricks, and ideas. You are beautiful, and God’s Spirit so radiates from within you.
Have a blessed day, my friend!
Alison
Jessica, thank you so much! This was a lovely tutorial, and I am glad that you were able to take the time to share it with us. I did learn some new things from you–I wear make-up (a natural look–I guess I’ve always liked to make it look as though I wasn’t wearing any make-up *smile*) but I honestly know very little about the ‘right’ ways to apply it. 🙂
And I simply have to say: I, also, lick the tip of my finger to remove any mascara that may have gotten on my eye lid! I thought I was the only one who did that. I guess it just goes to show you that we think we are the only ones who do certain silly things–then we discover that it may well be more universal than we thought. 😀
God bless, Jessica!
Lovely tutorial! I’ll have to pin this to come back to it. As to what kind of makeup I wear, I go back and forth between an everyday, relaxed look (just some mascara, a little foundation, and a smattering of light eyeshadow) to the cheery, vintage look. For nice occasions, I pull out the cheery vintage look over an everyday look. But I almost never pull out the smoky, modern look. I don’t know, I think it just does funny things to my eyes 🙂
Jessica,
Thank you so much for posting this! Having followed your blog for some time now, I have finally screwed up the courage to post a comment! I want to express my appreciation for your humble generosity in sharing glimpses of your life with others. This tutorial in particular inspired me to cultivate a deeper love for myself as a young woman and daughter of the Father. I hope you know how beautiful you are, and that I do believe that I have found a kindred spirit in you. 🙂
They’re most definitely beauty marks.
Also… you know, at the start of the video, I thought you already had make-up on. 😀 You clearly do have beautiful natural colouring.
I’m even simpler than you with make-up, because I practically don’t wear it, only for special occasions (like a ball). So I’ve only recently acquired a make-up brush for my eyeshadow (and I use the other end for tinted lipbalm)! I like to accentuate my eyes, although not really in a bold smoky manner (I just don’t like that look on most people and definitely can’t picture it on me). Recently, I got a mascara for free, and think it will go straight to my sister who uses mascara, because I tried it on and did not like the feeling at all… and even less the feeling of having to wash it away afterwards. 😀
But I’m thinking of getting a good red lipstick in a suitable shade, and some such things, just to broaden my options… so I liked this tutorial. Because you keep it simple, and that’s what suits me; and because it helps me decide what I want or can use and what’s not for me.
