Hello Dearies! Today I’m going to be sharing some Spring/Summer Style pictures that have been inspiring me fashion-wise in my wardrobe this year! I was originally going to post the next step for the 1940’s sandals, but I’ve lost interest, and inspiration, in posting about that. I don’t know about you, but it’s hard for me to be tied down to writing about something that I’m no longer enthusiastic about. So, for now, the rest of the posts about the 1940’s peep-toe sandals will be put off until the Fall.
I love both of the outfits at the top! Even though the one on the left has more Fall toned colors, I love the silhouettes that are paired together! As far as the image on the right, the sneakers (they seem more like Keds than Converse to me) help to make the vintage-esque dress less “dressy” which is one thing I love about this girl’s outfit (and it makes me want to get some classic Keds!). Her hair is pretty cute too, considering that I just got mine chopped to almost the same length!
I’ve been loving the look of classic white T-shirts paired with pastel pink skirts. In fact, I’m wearing an outfit that fits that description right now! Another clothing item I’ve been adoring lately is half circle skirts! They are SO easy to make (I made the one I’m wearing as I write this, in one afternoon!), and flatter me too, which is always a plus!
I’ve also been trying to add more details such as patch pockets, appliqué, etc. to my clothes as I continue to build my Spring/Summer wardrobe. I’ve recently been stocking up on me-made T-shirts, so I decided to give one of them an Alabama Chanin spin (the image on the right is an Alabama Chanin piece), and hand appliquéd some roses onto the neckline to give it a handmade, not homemade, air. The picture on the top left is just dreamy! I could totally see myself wearing an outfit similar to that. I have never thought of pairing denim with lace, but the picture on the bottom left just might change my mind about that. I probably wouldn’t wear the look myself, but I would definitely wear that skirt! Anyone know where I could get one?!? 😀
What’s inspiring you in your Spring/Summer Wardrobe?
Do you like special details (like appliqué, contrasting buttons, hidden embroidery) in your clothes?
Have a loverly day!
