Hello my friends!
Last week Mom surprised me by presenting me with one of my old childhood garments, and asking if I would like it to be refashioned into a new skirt? Its funny how the memories of my childhood clothes never really leave my mind. Though it has been 12 years, I instantly recognized the old dress and visions of those days gone by flitted across my minds eye. And if you were even able to find all of my little girls clothes that have been sold long ago at our multiple garage sales, I would still be able to recognize them all, not to mention just about every place I went in them (outside of our home of course). I have never pondered such a thought until now, but it is all so true.
You must know before anything else is said that this childhood garment used to be a complete little dress. Made of heavy linen, it was constructed from a large pattern I think–or at least the waist had a great deal of room–for at the time it really seemed to swallow my little frame! Either way, I now found the waist to be just the right size when Mom brought it up from our fabric-scap room. All it needed was a little seam sewn down the button placket to make it perfectly modest and wearable. It is now one of my new favorite skirts! Thanks Mom!
Ever since I realized that my hair is actually not too short to wear our Lilla Rose flexy clips, I have been wearing them just about every week! Now for those of you who still have doubts as to wether or not they will function with with you hair type, let me just take a second to say they will! If your hair is curly, stick-straight, supper thick or a little thin, you don’t have to be afraid to give them a try. Lilla Rose offers every size for every hair type, so they won’t disappoint. And they are extremely gentle on any set of locks, not to mention comfy!
All last Spring and Summer, you would have seen me in this “Old Faithful” navy striped tee. I don’t know about you, but I have to give this Target purchase a big thumbs up! It has lasted so long, and still has plenty of wear in it for yet another sweltering Summer. What’s not to love?

It might be possible that you all would be interested in reading about what we are presently working on with singing…well, we are heading out late this afternoon for an evening filled with the second production of our Voice Teacher’s Princess Show! For those of you who did not follow us through the postings of the first show, you may want to view our costumes and videos of what happened (here and here)! We are so excited to be performing our parts again, what with Charlotte’s Snow White act, and Brigi and I starring as the silly, might I add, intrusive, Ugly Step-Sisters!! There is a slight change with this performance though–the production is being held at a different Church building, and the reason for this is the attractive offer of being able to use some top-of-the-line, “invisible”cordless mics that wrap around your ear! It will prove to be a jolly fun evening! Oh! Also, there is to be yet again the much loved Receiving line and Cake Reception! Perfection. Simply Perfection. Can’t wait (especially for the getting “done up” part to be over with! Ugh!)
Have you ever refashioned an old childhood garment?
Have you tried out Lilla Rose hair clips before?
Do you dislike getting ready for a play or musical if you have been in one?
Love in Christ always,
The eldest sister & singer
