Happy Weekend, all! I can hardly believe the season of celebrating our Lord’s resurrection is almost here! Easter is such a joyous, hopeful occasion for our family and Church, as I am sure it is for all who are the Lord’s children. The remembrances of our Lord’s never ending compassion and mercy for us, joyful hymns and praises, and great feasts and fellowship make this happy holiday so joyful and moving. I can’t help but be so thankful that Easter for us doesn’t stop at the bunnies and baskets. In fact, those things don’t really present themselves in our house at all any more. No, instead we have an incredible story and reality to celebrate: Christ is risen! We are free from sin and death forever! Hallelujah!
Last Sunday was actually in the high 70’s, so I was very happy to pull out my favorite, Springy 1940’s swing dress (find the pattern here!) that I crafted last year. I adore the juxtaposition of modern print + vintage silhouette in this frock, which is a style that I continue to adore in any piece of clothing. Give me a trendy print and I will sew up an utterly vintage dress style 🙂
My outfit for this C.O.S is very simple when you think about it; merely a fun dress, ballet flats, a hair flower and belt. I think the life of the dress mingled with the individual characters of the accessories and shoes make this outfit so interesting and anything but basic. Quality over quantity, right? 😉
Today I plan to switch out my wardrobe from Fall/Winter to Spring/Summer (hooray! At last!!), do a photo-shoot with the girls (yay for 2014 singing photos!), maybe iron some scarves that my Mom washed (thanks, Mom :), and… Finally watch Frozen for the first time this evening! Yay! I have been dying to see that film ever since hearing all the stellar reviews from everyone. Literally, everyone. So, at last, my heart’s desire shall be fulfilled tonight 😉 We girls can’t help but joke that we all are going to be the odd-balls and hate the movie. Hahaha… I guess I’m kind of nervous about that, but we’ll see what happens 🙂
