Hello everyone!
Picture yourself, if you can, standing before a row of nine Princesses. They each have just arrived from their castles, each by their own mode of transportation โ a magic pumpkin, flying carpet, a dashing steed, or even ones own two feet. They are here to sing to you their own life stories by just a few poetic lines. They are here to waft your imagination to their own far away lands of fairy dust and magic. They are here to bring you joy, and not just any simple joy, but the all encompassing joy of the reminder that you are a Princess too. You are a Princess, if you have been bought with a price by the King of kings, and LORD of lords, namely, Jesus Christ.
The Princesses standing before you are escorted into a hall filled with royal courtiers, and many admiring eyes. You wait breathless as they ascend to a platform to be seated at a banquet table filled with many wonderful dainties. At each of the nine places, there is laid a delicate flower, and each one grown with the magical power of fairies to transform a simple bloom into a magical ornament mirroring its mistresses own beautiful tale of love and sacrifice.
Now, you all know that I do not possess any kind of magical power, but I must say that I sure felt like some etherial little creature who dabbled in fairy dust! It took a great deal of creativity to create the stunning masterpieces for each of the nine young ladies who graced the performance stage with their amazing talent! I could have used some fairy dust too, if only just a little. ๐
I wanted to simplify the riddle of what each flower was to look like by racking my brain, and the computer’s, to recall a flower from each of the Disney Princess movies. I knew right off that Mulan’s was to be a delicate, simple, and very oriental looking cherry blossom, just like the one her father gave her in the family garden. What do you think?
I USED:
22 gage brown floral wire // Stem
White single ply crepe paper and fuchsia marker // Petals
Black pips // Stamins
Cotton ball and brown crepe paper // Center
Ah, the magical rose of time was Belle’s beautiful flower. I wanted to give this one the slow aging look that we see in the movie; the frail outer petals taking on the appearance of death and decay, while the inner petals still hold the fresh glow of time yet to be spent.
I USED:
22 gage wire and green floral tape // Stem
Rose and red crepe paper with diluted white acrylic paint // Petals
Vintage yellow pips, and yellow crepe // Center
“A dream is a wish your heart makes…” Cinderella to me was one of the most practical princess stories. The girl works hard all her life, finds help through her ever watchful Fairy Godmother, and is at last whisked away to a ball to find Prince Charming. Of course there is a little more drama to the story than that! I desired to reflect the simple elegance of Cinderella in this flower by using the “less is more” rule. The simple forms of the petals and well as the blues and whites give her bloom a clean, bright look, which is something that this young princess adores โ squeaky cleanness!
I USED:
22 gage wire and brown floral tape // Stem
Blue craft paper, white and blue crepe paper // petals
Vintage pips // Stamens
Cotton ball and white crepe paper // Center
Jasmine’s was one of the last ones I made, and my goodness! I think my brain was about fried of ideas because it took a while to conjure up this simple bloom! I already had two other white flowers, but I wanted this to be different. I needed the petals to have a particular Middle East look, and there had to be something on it that shouted out precious gems and gold coins. I looked up pictures of Jasmine flowers, and there it was! I had found my inspiration. Five white pointed petals encrusted with turquoise glitter and some sort of wild gold accent.
I USED:
22 gage green floral wire and metallic gold floral tape // Stem
White crepe and turquoise glitter // Petals
Aqua and blue ombre crepe // Center petals
Gold tinsel // Stamens
Oh Aurora! How I loved you in my childhood years! How I filled my little lungs to belt out those operatic high notes with you when you sang gracefully through the forest! You were my favorite!
We watched Sleeping Beauty endlessly, so I could remember with out much difficulty the dark, rich colors and medieval patterns and shapes that danced across the TV screen when the movie played. I also had to include that hilarious episode of the three good fairies fighting over what color Aurora would wear to greet the Prince and royal parents upon her 18th birthday. And what Briar Rose is a rose without, well… a rose?
I USED:
22 gage wire and gold metallic floral tape // Stem
Gold embossed craft paper // Leaves
Pink, green and blue craft paper, silver and turquoise glitter // Petals
Gold ribbon and gold embossed craft paper // Middle petals
Rose pink crepe paper and turquoise glitter // Stamens
Rapunzel is one of the more “wild and free” Princesses, so I went with pink floppy petals. The whole arrangement needed to be young and playful, it needed to be a little on the girly side as well, only because that is how I see Rapunzel in my head. So I went with what I could remember.
I USED:
22 gage wire and gold metallic floral tape // Stem
Rose pink crepe, pink stripped craft paper, and gold tinsel // Petals
Vintage yellow pips // Stamens
Cotton ball and rose pink crepe // Center
“Unda Da Sea, unda da sea…” The Little Mermaid was my second favorite of all the Disney Princesses. I dreamed of fins and strong tail to help me glide through the water of our community pool when I was very small. I always wanted Ariel’s voice too. It rings so clear and sweet in my memories now. There was no trouble coming up with her special flower. I could remember quite clearly the aquatic bloom that graced her beautiful red head, so I knew that that was the one I was to make. It had to look like the slightest of currents could sway its radiant petals. It needed to look as if it came from the grottos of the sea!
I USED:
22 gage wire and gold metallic floral tape // Stem
Double sided craft paper, diluted yellow and aqua acrylic paint // Petals
Apricot crepe, yellow acrylic paint, and fuchsia marker // Center
After consulting Charlotte on the choice of flower she wanted, we both happily settled for an heirloom looking red and white Tulip bloom. Since Snow White is remembered well for her death from the deceptively delicious red apple, I had to make Charlottes flower appear to be as enticing, and yet have the aura of poison about it. I know, a little intense for such a sweet flower!
I USED:
22 gage wire and gold metallic floral tape // Stem
White crepe, diluted red and yellow acrylic paint, and red glitter // Petals
Black pips // Stamens
Last but not least, and perhaps the most difficult of all, I created a “Native American” beauty for our Native American Princess, Pocahontas. I racked my brain trying to think of some flower other than a Sunflower (which would have done well enough, I admit) that would do this earthy Princess justice. Oh you have no idea how hard and long I thought over this one! I would flip through my “Paper to Petal” flower book to gather inspiration. I would browse the internet for bright floral thoughts. But nothing I could think of would work. Then, one evening, right before bed, I found it! It was sitting right in the middle pages of my flower book, looking me hard in the face. The sunshine was there; the simple, Native American color pallet; the independent, untamable glow of Pocahontas’s beauty… it was all there!

22 gage wire and brown floral tape // Stem
Apricot crepe, yellow and red acrylic paint // Petals
These are all gorgeous! You must be so creative and patient to be able to make these so beautifully! My favourite was Snow White’s because it was so pretty, but also implied her red lips and red apple from the red on the tips. Amazing! Naomi xx
STUNNING! Wow, Jessica, i love these! Each one fit the Disney princesses to a T! Your creative abilities are clearly displayed here, as each of the flowers are starkly unique and original and beautiful to behold.
My personal favorite is Pocahontas, i love all those fiery shades.

Hi Abigail!
Thanks ever so much! The Pocahontas flower really grew on me as I made it. I visited your blog a few days ago with Brigi, and we both love it! You seem to enjoy all of the things we love: blue grass music, vintage fashion, sewing, and creativity! So nice to meet you!
Fondly,
Jessica
Such stunning flowers! If I haaaave to choose just one, I think I like the Pocahontas flower. I love the fullness of the blossom and the beautiful, bold colors. Other favorites are Jasmine and Mulan. The Mulan flower looks amazing! They are all so beautiful. These remind me of Luke 12:27.
Yes Jill, that was the very verse I had in mind when writing down the first bit of the post. Thanks for the complements! I am so excited you all (other followers) love the flowers so much!
Blessings,
Jessica
Beautiful!
Amazing! I love all of them, especially the Snow White flower – it’s got the atmosphere of the whole fairy tale. The Mulan flower is great too.
Wow! Those are really impressive! I think my two favorite flowers are Jasmine and Rapunzel. I love the hint of teal sparkles on the first one and the pink of Rapunzel! It really looks like they are blossoming before your eyes!
Oh goodness! I didn’t realize they were that realistic as to appear that they were blooming before your very eye! Wonderful!
Jessica
Wow! This is probably my favorite Flower Parlor post! It was so fun to see the correlations between the flowers and their princesses. You did an amazing job. ๐ My favorites are Pocahantas’, Snow White’s, and Jasmine’s.
Love,
Hannah
So glad you enjoyed this Post Hannah! Hope you are doing well!
Jessica
Wow! what a beautiful talent!
Just curious, will you be making more for the other Princesses? Cinderella, Belle, Merida?
My favorite is Snow White’s, so lovely!
Hey Becca!
Sorry about the missing flowers! I actually made them (excepting Merida’s) and you can see them above now. Charlotte and I had so many to keep track of that a few of them slipped our notice and were left behind in edit mode! Thanks for keeping me accountable!
Blessings,
Jessica
Amazing Jessica! Delicately perfect!
I most admire Mulan and Rapunzel!
Charlotte has captured their beauty as if I was holding them in my hand!
I love the font that you all have been using on the photo/word collages!
Love,
Cassie

I love this! What about Elsa and Ana? Or Tiana? Or other animated princesses like Anastasia or Odette. Oh, this could be so fun; I totally want to do this. My sisters and I loving pinning Disney princess themed stuff (ball gowns, wedding dresses, rings, retro princess, princess dressed according to the time the film was made etc.), and so I will have to show them this. Oh, you could even do over the top flowers for people like the stepsisters or Mother Gothel.
Hi Livia!
I am so glad you loved this post! As to your inquiry, I actually made them for a Disney Princess Show our Voice Teacher just put on a couple of weeks ago. There were only 9 girl students available for the production, and thus I only made the 9 flowers you see above. I agree, it would have been such fun to make flowers for all of the Princesses, but perhaps another day. I almost made two over-the-top flowers for Brigi and I, who happened to star as Cinderella’s Ugly Stepsisters that night, but I didn’t have enough time to make some. ๐
I hope your sisters enjoy them!
Fondly,
Jessica
How can you ask us to choose a favourite?!
Okay, maybe Mulan’s, probably because it has that really direct connection to the film and the story and I always liked Mulan…
To be honest, I’d probably change Aurora’s, because it seems too busy for a Briar Rose – I don’t know if you get those where you live, but around here, those are the simplest five-petaled flowers, so… I just can’t make the mental connection there.
But still, who am I to criticise – you did a great job!
I think my favorite is the Jasmine! I love that color!
How did you learn to make them? What resources {books, tutorials, supplies, etc} would you recommend for getting started?
Hello Hannah!
I have been musing over writing up a new post in the series regarding answers to questions like the ones you queried. So just sit tight, and I will solve your riddles as soon can be!
Thanks for your two bits!
Fondly,
Jessica
My mouth just dropped open when I looked at these beautiful princess flowers! It’s so hard to pick a favorite as they are all so lovely; I do love Aurora’s flower because she was also my favorite of all the Disney princesses! I hope you will consider doing a post series about how to make these flowers.
In Christ,
~Sarah~

These are GORGEOUS!
I especially love: Aurora’s, Ariel’s, and Pocahontas’. Though Belle is my favorite of the Princesses. ๐
Well done, Jessica!!!
My daughter is doing a Disney wedding and these flowers are perfect. Did you keep notes on how you did them….and if so are you willing to share?
I’d be eternally grateful.
Hi Laurissa,
Unfortunately, I did not. I’m very sorry. You could look up a book called “Paper to Petal” at the library though! This is the book where I got all these paper flower ideas from. ๐
Blessings on your wedding planning!
Jessica B.
