Have you ever felt SO TIRED of the same old clothes and the same old colors in your wardrobe? Well I know I feel that way right about now… I guess it’s just been a super long, cold (can I say that again?!) Winter, and I am up and ready to do the ol’ closet switcheroo: out with the old and in with the new! I’m a gal who loves change, and always make everything a “fashion show”, so it’s pretty natural for me to be antsy and discontent with my clothing choices in-between the Winter weather ending and Spring sunshine beginning.
Each day that I browse the rack of frocks, cardigans, and shirts to discover my outfit for the day, I always frown at the collection of Fall/Winter colors still proclaiming the frigid, bleak seasons of their wear; so I take a peek at what might be in the far corner where I keep my S/S wardrobe. Oh, no, it simply would not do to wear a bright colored sundress on this 40˚ day, and what’s the point of wearing a short-sleeve shirt under a sweater, if its bright, merry colors are just going to be hid anyway? So, I resort back to the selection of browns and blues, and lead the rest of my day in a rather humdrum-I-really-don’t-like-my-outfit sort of way. Just like Jessica mentioned in her last post, an outfit really can affect the mood you’re in!
To get out of my clothing rut, I’ve done a little shopping, and finally purchased my first order from ThredUp! After the wonderful Ashley posted a link for a $10 credit, I simply couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a garment refresh. ThredUp is basically a high-end thrift shop gone world-wide-web, with such a selection of fabulous clothing articles (seriously, you can browse for hours! I know I did ;). I purchased a J. Crew kelly green pullover ($8.87, originally $65), a fluffy, floral J. Crew Skirt ($12.07, originally $90), and a basic, grey A-Line H&M skirt ($3.53, originally $18.99). Talk about some deals, right? If you want to find some fresh new pieces to brighten up your wardrobe, click through my link, and you’ll get a whopping $10 off your order! If you think about it, you could get a shirt or skirt practically for free! Now if that’s not an incentive to go find something, I don’t know what would be! 😉 Also, if you spend that $10 credit, I’ll get a $10 credit too, so it’s a win-win affair.
Can we talk about this cardigan for a minute? I found it at the thrift store a few weeks ago. I was attracted to the high-waist style and color, and though the overall look of the sweater wasn’t really my style, I decided to take a dive and try it on. It was perfect! The blouse-y sleeves were oh-SO forgiving, it hit me perfectly at the waist, and the overall silhouette is so flattering! I snatched it up and have been keeping my self from wearing it out, I adore it so 😉
Hope you all have a splendid rest of your day. Thanks for stopping by!
