Hey there! I hope you all are having a good week thus far! I have an outfit to share with you all that my Dad says reminds him of Candy Stripers, the volunteer girls who used to work at hospitals and wore striped dresses similar to mine.
I can’t wait for Spring to finally come! All this cold, dreary weather is certainly getting my spirits down these days. I long for the time when I can walk about on the earth in bare feet and not have to worry about being too cold! The days where the sun shining on your back provides just enough warmth as the breeze plays through the blossoms on the trees, chilling you, but somehow providing a delicious sense of new growth and life, as the wind is no longer the biting, frozen one of winter, but its sweeter cousin, who brings with her the blossoms, white puffy clouds, and sun filled days that march ever closer to the days of summer. The days where you can wear short sleeves and not need a sweater, where you can sit on the front porch in the sunshine to do your school or sewing work. Ah! I simply cannot wait for Spring!
For the makeup with this outfit I just wore my “Belles on Their Toes” look which I described in this post. I definitely think this is my new everyday makeup look. I love it so much!
We girls bought a lot of four of dresses that Solanah of Vixen Vintage was selling on Instagram, and this dress was one of them. The listing said the dresses were in need of a bit of TLC, and I expected all of the dresses to be a bit on the larger side for us girls, but quite miraculously this dress fit perfectly! I just had to give it a bit of repairs and it was quite wearable.
Have you ever heard of Candy Stripers?
This is adorable Brigid! I love it! π
Darling Brigid! And yup, yup I have those shoes! π
Yes, spring is being anxiously awaited by me!
I had not heard of Candy Stripers before! You learn something new everyday! π
I think that your outfit is a definition of these early spring days….And that I would most definitely wear it!
Hey… I have been wondering- what is your post text font’s name?
It always looks so neat and tidy!
Fondly,
Cassie
Hi Cassie!

Oh, and I love the pictures in this post!
And sewing and school work out doors is going to be wonderful to do again!

You look darling! My favorite one is the very last one. It looks as if you’d stepped back into time especially. I’ve heard of candy stripers before or at least I’ve read about them.:) I think some used to wear a pinafore with a ruffle on the shoulders? I think…. Anyway you look adorable! Merry from eachlittlebird.blogspot.com
Such a cute dress! I love the blog Vixen Vintage, too. So neat that you found some dresses from there.
Ah, i hear exactly what you’re saying, Brigid. Being able to just walk out the door without any thought of layers and layers of clothing or even shoes sounds utterly delightful.

Such a pretty dress! I absolutely love it!
Yes, I am awaiting Spring rather impatiently! We were having lovely weather and I was thinking Spring was finally right around the corner until this morning when we got snow!
No, I have never heard of Candy Stripers but I guess I learned something!
I love your entire outfit and would wear it in a heartbeat! π

Such a pretty dress, and you look so gorgeous in it! I can’t wait for spring either… π xxx
What a sweet dress! π I like how old-fashioned (in the best sense!) you look in your outfit and makeup.
No, I haven’t heard of the Candy Stripers before. How interesting!
Your outfit is so fun! I loved the dress. I’ve heard of Candy Stripers before. I once was a hospital volunteer and I recall an older patient asking me if I was one. I quickly had to look up what a Candy Striper was! π I would have been so much fun to use the red and white uniforms!
Adorable outfit! The pastel pink and cream looks lovely on you.
I’m SOOOoooooo ready for Spring, soon it will come, I hope! Lol!

Lovely! That dress is adorable, and you look great in it. I’m jealous of your sleeveless photos… I think I’d freeze outdoors in a cotton dress right now.
Love your dress! Yay! We have the same shoes! π ~Rebekah

Never heard of Candy Stripers! But I’ve just watched a film where the girl volunteered in a hospital and wore a pink scrub there, so I’m now trying to imagine.
Your dress is definitely much prettier than a scrub. π I like your shoes a lot, too.
Here, Spring has been around for some time already, and I was (really without reason, but I was) feeling guilty that your side of the ocean was still having snow and blizzards and who knows what else. So now I’m excited for your Spring, actually. π
Adooooorable! I’m a sucker for red and white stripes! =]
I found a vintage candy striper uniform for $5 at an antique mall last summer! I have yet to wear it, but it sure is cute! Haha have a nice day! =]
This dress is lovely!! A true spring dress!! All the photos are lovely, as usual, but the last one is a particularly sweet one of you, Brigid!
