Hello lovelies! I have a snow-day outfit to share with you all today. This past week our area has been dumped with snow, and by the looks of the weather report, we’re bound to have more this weekend (hopefully not enough to ruin our Christmas show this weekend!).
I wanted to show you all what I wear on a day to day basis, since it seems I haven’t done that in a LONG while. My everyday wardrobe for winter typically consists of a t-shirt, and/or sweater, a denim or wool skirt, and definitely socks! It’s funny, a few years ago I used to be the rebellious no-socks-in-the-winter-unless-we’re-going-out-of-the-house type of person (though Mom would typically convince me to put on some socks by lunchtime), but now I couldn’t imagine walking around the house all day without any socks!
Doesn’t this picture remind you of ‘The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe’?
This sweater is one that I bought back in the summer with some birthday money. It has a story behind it, which I have yet to discover, and only to imagine: The previous owner, before it was being sold on Etsy.com, embroidered her name quite beautifully, in the same mustard as the sweater, on a ribbon and sewed it into the collar of the sweater, denoting that it belonged to Bernadine L. Ayling. I believe the sweater is from the 60’s, and ever since buying it, I have wanted to try to write Bernadine, and see if there was a story of why she embroidered her name in the collar. But who would want to bother to tell the probably commonplace story of a plain old sweater to a curious young person like me? I still know I would want to listen to it.
