Today I am rather excited to share with you all yet another singing venue we the immense pleasure of performing at last Saturday! We were invited to pair up again with the Back in Time Express to sing some country oldies and Christmas tunes on the antique stage of the Jamestown Opry House!
The story behind this performance runs like this:
The Jamestown Ohio Opry House has been refurbished over the past couple years, it’s antique structure needing a bit of assistance. Well, due to the old-fashioned design, the owners are looking to put in an elevator to substitute the 3 flights of stairs required to get up to the auditorium, and were (are!) in need of funds raised to put this idea into action. Enter the Back in Time Express and The Boyer Family Singers! We were invited twice, once back in August, and again for a holiday themed show last Saturday, to promote the fundraising!
In attempts to make this show as big as can be, we put into action various attempts at advertising and getting the word out. You can see a column written about it in the Wilmington News Journal here! It was rather thrilling for we girls to be interviewed for this article, it being our first ever time being highlighted in the paper like this!
As all performances typically are for us, this show was a wonderful experience and maturing agent in our girls’ singing career!
Here is the list of songs that we performed, most of which were backed by the Back in Time Express:
- Silver Bells
- Mele Kalikimaka
- Ol’ Buttermilk Sky
- Angel Band
- Jingle Bells
- Gospel Medley (the whole band included)
- Silent Night (the whole band included)
