One event that always seems to come across our path in November is square dancing. We never seem to fail going to one of these gatherings at least once a year! If you know us, you’d know that we girls are BIG contra dance fans (virginia reel, anyone?), so this time of year always gets us giddy for a square dance! Swishing skirts, peppy music, the racket of stomping boots and yodeling enthusiasts! Even those awkward moments in the middle of a promenade when you don’t know what to do next; it’s all a part of the game 🙂
A big part of this dance for us is what we girls wear. It has to be easy to move in, have a full skirt (yes, that is a must for we girls), and channel some of that “country” style. So, we wanted to share what outfits we came up with which we would wear to one of these exciting dances!
handmade jumper // thrifted blouse/tunic, belt, and boots // vintage pin
ModCloth blouse (last year) // eShakti Dress (see here too!) // thrifted boots
handmade jumper + sash // thrifted blouse // target ear-mufflers // Old Navy boots
Brigid bedecked her fullest skirt in this ensemble, marrying both the boho style with the classic country fashion.
Charlotte combined mid-century with classic cowgirl/prairie style in her voluminous skirt, prairie boots and plaid tie-blouse.
Jessica is all cozy country in her cheery, homey outfit! The warm, subtle tones and vintage-country flair channeled in her accessories make this ensemble the perfect one to wear to both an outdoor or indoor country dance!
