Hellooo! And a happy 1st day of November (or 2nd, depending on where you live) to you! Charlotte and I filmed a short featurette to share with you, of our shop, Brown Paper Vintage, and the relatively short history behind it. Also, we thought we would share with you, both in the video and in this post, our favorite patterns from the shop.
The pattern above is my favorite! It is called “Schoolgirl Chic“, and was printed in 1964. I just love the clean classic lines, and the warm color scheme for the pattern illustration. Couldn’t you see it in a warm cuddly wool? Or even a crisp poplin? *Sigh* Wouldn’t you just love to make up this pattern as a suit for winter, perhaps in a plaid, or just a nice, conservative solid? Oh, and I just have to say, the Models’ hair is just simply divine.
McCall’s 6864, which you can see above, is Charlotte’s favorite. The camping flair that it exudes inspired us to title it: “Gone Glamping.” Couldn’t you just see yourself packing up for a weekend camping trip, and adding this fun outfit to your choices of attire? The culottes can look like a skirt, but provide the “freedom” of pants, and the overall retro look is so chic! And if you don’t want the culottes, why not make yourself a pair of shorts instead. As you can see by the pattern cover, plaid would be a most suitable choice.
I hope you enjoyed the video, and viewing our favorite patterns. Do be sure to check out the shop too!
