Golly! Can you believe that we’ve already arrived at the Castle of Success? Today we get to sit back, relax and review everything that we have learned. Shall we take a look at what we’ve accomplished?
We started out at the Introduction where I volunteered to be your “amateur” tour guide throughout this journey.
Once we had settled that matter, we moved on to Color, Shape & Resources, Part 1 & Part 2, where we learned quite a few things about how coloring, and what shape of clothes we wear affect how we look.
We then spent quite a lengthy sojourn learning about the different Style Archetypes such as:
Hi everyone! So, as I said last night I am posting today my outfit for the Castle of Success party for the celebration of Finding Your Style…here is what I learned through this, and it has been fun!…
So, I will begin with: My Color
My color is Warm Autumn; hence my eyes being brown, my hair being, honey
brown, and skin, ivory. After putting a ‘color name’ on yourself you are able
to then read down further in your category and find out what colors look the
best on those types of people! It may seem overwhelming, but it is so easy-
Next question was: What is your shape ?
My shape is some were between the ‘pear’ and ‘hourglass’ being slightly larger in
the hips than the ever so common hourglass figure has been explained to be. A
couple tips I learned for this type shape are as follows…
-Wear a belt about your waist.
-Wear high waisted skirts.
-Wear A-line skirts.
-Wear jackets that hit right above waist.
Lastly is: Your Style
My style is a cross between; The girly romantic; fluffy skirts, floral tops, and elegant bows.
Country western; boots, button ups, and dramatically solid.
Vintage/English Country; My personal vintage is more of an
antiquey look, a fresh battered jean skirt, calico tops, and
basic browns, more than wearing 40’s and 50’s dresses though
I do love them, it is just not what I own alot of- yet. 🙂
For my English Country this mostly comes out in the winter,
plaid wool skirts and my simple sweater collection.
As you can see I did mix all of my favorites- Girly/Romantic, The lace cardigan
My ‘vintage’, raggidness of the skirt and brown throughout
Counrty/Western, cowgirl boots and leather to tie back my hair.
SO this can be done without looking conglomerated! I think the best way to do this successfully is to do the ‘finding your color’ test so that you can know what colors best suit your ‘color’! If you adore more than one main style and still have your basic colors that go with ‘your color’ then what better a way to mix those than by having clothes that coordinate!
Thank you so much Cassie! As I said above, please go check out the rest of Cassie’s Success! Story at Calico Clodhoppers.
You all were able to read about my personal style in last week’s post, so I won’t bore you with another outfit. 😉
Instead, I want you all to go outside, run, jump, shout from the hill tops, whatever expression of joy you can think of, because, “Hip, Hip, Hooray!” We have finished Finding Our Styles!
Before I sign off, I just want to say a big word of thanks to you all! You have been so encouraging, and taught me a lot that I didn’t know. Didn’t I say I was an amateur tour guide though? 😉 You all have been so wonderful. Words can’t express the thrill that I get when I know that I have impacted someone else’s life in a positive, God-honoring way. This may sound strange to some of you, but it really is only by His grace that any of us, especially me, have made it to the end of this series. I really feel that I have found friends among you all; encouraging, supportive sisters in Christ, who I wouldn’t have known except for through this blog. Thank you.
