This week has been so pleasant, without many events or singing engagements to go to like in the past weeks. I am so thankful for a bit of peace to just live a normal life around the house, absent of much interruption. It gives one an opportunity to be busy with smaller, simpler things.
In speaking of busyness, we took a very exciting step in our singing career this past Saturday. Having a connection with an incredible Bluegrass/Old Country band entitled: “The Back in Time Express”, we had the opportunity of being guest performers with them at a 100 year old Opry House to fundraise for the building’s restoration! It was really amazing, and we girls had such a blast! You can view the songs that we sang on our YouTube channel here, here, here, and here.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take as many pictures as I would have liked to, as Dad had to take my camera to set it up for filming. There was an Orchestra pit, backstage dressing rooms below the stage (with old newspaper clippings of the performer’s advertisements scattered all about the dressing rooms), flights and flights of stairs, HUGE, gorgeous windows (the ones in the theater room went all the way to the floor. Quite daunting to look down, seeing that you are two stories up…), and such beautiful, ornamental trimmings on the seats and pillars. They even had old (what we believed to be replicated) advertisements hanging above the stage which really peeked mine and my Dad’s graphic design enthusiasm, hehe 😉
Oh yes, and I’ve been designing my F/W wardrobe! So excited for the clothing that I hope to sew up very soon. I think my first project will be the dress design to the far left, which will be my first pattern collaboration project!
