COS // 70’s Inspired by boyer-girls featuring a braided leather belt
For this weekend’s COS, I decided to branch out of my comfort zone of midi skirts and mid-century styles, into the world of maxi dresses and 1970’s summer. Like a lot of vintage lovers, my favor of the old eras tappers off towards the end of the 60’s and into the 70’s. However, there are little gems here and there hidden in those more modern time periods that really call out to me. One of those is the easy, carefree aesthetic that appears in the 1970’s, with maxi dresses, straw accessories, and light cotton voiles.
I can’t get enough of the picnic-basket purse styles this summer, so as I was collaborating the items together, I just had to include one that I’ve been eying all summer 🙂
I love easy, throw-on-and-go styles for the summer heat, and dresses fit into that category so perfectly in my book (I think that’s why I have so many of them in my closet this year…)
Instead of just sticking with the bold coral of the maxi, I decided to throw in some mint accessories, which I think complement the color beautifully. Oh yes, and simple maxis and statement necklaces are really meant for each other, I firmly believe 🙂
