Incredible news…. six weeks have past since the bird named Reformanda went missing. We can happily announce that this stunning bird is happily living at home again!
A few days ago we received another phone call from a stranger who wanted us to know the continued story of Reformanda. Of course those strangers who have come in contact with him do not know his name, but thankfully the band on his leg has guided this wonderful bird back to our home. The strangers also don’t know how long this bird has been wondering around 30 miles from our home.
We met the man who housed Reformanda temporarily while the right time and day for the return came. Mr. Rogers has a flock of pigeons himself, not white homers, but racing birds. He’s an older guy and was really happy to have the opportunity to meet Jessica and return her bird.
Besides this excitement, he also gave her two of his birds, a “red check” cock and a “blue” hen. Jessica named the male bird “Big Red” and the hen she named “Cornflower”. They are strictly breeding birds so they will not be allowed out of the loft to fly. I seem to remember just a few weeks ago discussing actually buying a breeding pair with Jessica so she could improve the strength of her flock. Interesting how the Lord provides, huh?
All this was going on while a new fledgling was on it’s last leg. Jessica mourned the death of a cutie named “Summer” who had given Jessica affection unlike any other fledgeling has during its short life. None of her birds have yet died due to sickness.

There is so much to appreciate in life and experiences. I just pictured Reformanda surviving each day of those six weeks until he was providentially placed in the hands of someone who knew how to handle him and return him to his owner. All this so my daughter can learn from our Heavenly Provider how she may truly trust and lean on His faithfulness alone.
Mom of the ones who sing and the one who loves her birds.
