Last night the “Boyer Family Singers” i.e. Jessica, Brigid and Charlotte were performers!!! Our town has an annual fireworks show to celebrate our country’s independence and our girls were not only part of the audience, as we are every year, but actually got to sing a few songs and introduce the firework show!
Promptly at 9:15 the girls took the stage to sing, following a brief introduction by the Mayor. They sang “Battle Hymn of the Republic” which was goose bump show startling great! Then they sang “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” a 1940’s war song. The Mayor returned to the stage to introduce the color guard and give salutes to those who have served our country over the past many years. That was really neat because he asked men and women who have served to stand, gradually working through the years and wars, there were people standing all around us. It was really moving.
Then the girls finished the patriotic solute with the “National Anthem”. OH BOY!
We hope you all enjoyed your Independence day as much as we did. We will post the songs the girl’s performed on Vimeo real soon, but can’t get to it now since some crazy person (me) in the house agreed to be a part of a yard sale tomorrow, so its getting a bit busy! 😉
|Jessica, Charlotte and Brigid. Dresses: Target (thank you! So glad I didn’t have to sew them)|
|They are almost the same height! I know, Brigid looks a bit taller in photo above!
Someone asked if they were triplets! So funny what people say.
Blessings, The Mom of the Boyer Family Singers
ps. after the Mayor heard them sing the first two songs, he came up and said in more words than mine here….”People, there is hope for the next generation, after seeing these girls up here I just want to encourage you to keep on raising decent children.” Ha! He understands why the girls sing and if anyone was paying attention they do too. To God be the Glory.
